- Graduated from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1990. DDS.
- Graduated from Universidad Militar Nueva Granada, Bogotá, Colombia, in 1995, Orthodontics.
- Began practicing in California in 2000 and has 27 years of orthodontics experience with over 15000 happy smiles under his belt.

- Member ADA, CDA, Harbor Dental Association, World Federation of Orthodontics, SCO.
Dr. Chara’s family work in the dental industry as his sister and niece are dentists and his son works in the dental industry as well. He likes to compete in triathlons, sailing, hiking, traveling, scuba and freediving. He devotes many days of each year to continuing education seminars, study clubs, and conferences in order to keep up to date on the latest techniques and information. They are here to ensure that your orthodontic experience is a positive one!
